Halloween 2010: No Need to Panic!

Domokun, taking a much-needed break from chasing kittens and dancing.

Are you scrambling to figure out what to serve your guests at Halloween? Does the thought of treats like cookie crumbs on chocolate pudding with gummi worms in a plastic cup make you want to hurl your zombie guts out all over the place?

Witch, please! You know I got this. My new hobby, writing for The Vancouver Observer has an added benefit for you, readers, in that I'm pushing myself to come up with a recipe per week, finally, and have done a few more for holidays, including one of their popular Top 5 Lists for my Halloween sweet recipes that will have the kiddies and grown-ups all screaming for more. I will admit to letting out a squeal of glee when I visited the VO homepage earlier today and saw a photo of the cookies.

After a day of cooking and baking to taste, and figuring out the recipes, I don't want to see another dessert for a week. It's a good thing that this holiday only comes once a year!

Click here to check out my Top 5 List of Halloween Sweets: Vegan chocolate-peanut butter-coconut cupcakes, ghost s'mores, Autumn-spiced shortbread cookies, shards of pumpkin brittle, and mini caramel apples and pears. Put your dentist on speed-dial! If there's any good news to tell them, none of these recipes have corn syrup in them. Whew!

Have a fun and safe Halloween, everybody.

Eat well! And don't forget about vegetables, okay?

Kari
